If we are looking for a company that is 100% transparent and wants its customers to know everything it can about its business practices, we’d recommend other brands first.
If we are judging products based on their feel, style, taste, and functionality, CBDfx leaves little to want.
Their CBD tincture oil is potent and clean.
However, some might question CBDfx’s sly way of appearing to be 100% American, including a “USA-MADE” stamp on their box. This is concerning, when, in fact, all of their products are farmed in Holland before being processed in the United States.
Moreover, this further brings into question their claim of producing a “wholly organic” product. Since their source material comes from outside the United States, this hemp cannot be labeled as organic in the USA. This is one more instance where consumers might have more questions with scant answers.
The product itself, however, is more than enjoyable and recommended for CBD consumers who are looking for a solid, but budget friendly product, that doesn’t sacrifice functionality.
If you don’t like it, the company offers a 30-day money-back guarantee as part of its solid customer service.
Some companies try to create too many products and end up creating nothing of value. CBDfx creates products which fall into a variety of categories and does each one with flare.
From vape pens to topicals to edibles and more, there’s something for everyone who wants to get to know the industry.
Their pricing is well thought out and likely right where it should be. They aren’t the most expensive product on the market, but they don’t pretend to be the most high-end. They aren’t the cheapest, but they provide great value for the budget level they focus upon.
Ultimately, CBDfx is likely ideal for first-time CBD consumers who don’t want to break the bank on their first product order, or for people who enjoy an accessible and friendly CBD brand.
Here is our quick overview of this companies pros and cons:
It’s difficult to find much information about the history of this company. That’s unsurprising considering this is a relatively new industry, but it should be noted that other CBD companies provide much more information about themselves than what can be easily found on CBDfx’s website
CBDfx operates under the umbrella of NEwhere, Inc., a company that specializes in e-pens and vape products and appears to be based in Chatsworth, California.
Founded in 2012, this company is privately held and also operates under the business name Mad Hatter Juice. In 2018, Mad Hatter Juice was hit with a letter from the FTC noting that their product was misbranded and that they were engaged with unfair or deceptive marketing practices.
Besides that, there is very little information to find about this company online.
While CBDFx does provide some information that might be helpful to consumers in their FAQs and About Us page, their website does not offer detailed information about who runs the company.
To their credit, they offer a dedicated phone number, email, and mailing address.
In addition, they have an easy-to-use ‘contact’ form which allows for a quick connection.
We found that their best method of communication was through telephone. While our call was initially answered by a recorded message, a short menu quickly directed us to a live person within less than one minute.
Their FAQ leaves much to be desired. With just a handful of questions, half of which answer generic CBD questions, their FAQ likely doesn’t answer all of your questions.
The person on the phone, however, while slightly brusque when questioned about the nature and origin of the company, was friendly and knowledgeable with regard to general questions about the products.
You might, however, find more answers on the packages themselves.
For example, information on the package includes statements declaring that the products are made in the USA, specifically, in Los Angeles, California. However, on the phone, a customer representative told us that their raw materials were grown in Holland but processed in the United States.
While the box doesn’t indicate a CBD or THC concentration, their website does state that their products all test below the limit of 0.3% THC limit for hemp products manufactured in the USA.
To prove their claims, they have their products analyzed by Pharm Labs in San Diego, The company provides lab results via a QR code on the package itself. How often they test varies between their products and they only sample a gram or two at a time.
According to the link to the test results for their MCT oil, this product contains a negligible amount of THC and just over 2% CBD. The results for this test were produced on February 26, 2019, and it’s unclear when they will test these products again. Some CBDfx’s products were last tested in 2018.
Interestingly, the test for their 500 mg tincture oil showed that there was a discrepancy between how much CBD each dropper full would provide. The box’s label indicates an expected concentration of 16.5 mg of CBD per mL, but the results showed a whopping 20.22 mg/mL.
On their About Us page, they claim that their products are derived from “wholly organic hemp plants.” Currently, hemp and cannabis products cannot receive organic certification, so this claim cannot be thoroughly vetted
The manufacturing process sets the tone for the whole operation. The manner in which the raw material is grown and sourced directly impacts every aspect of the final product that goes to market.
From legal and authorized growers to frequently audited manufacturing facilities to third party lab results, it’s important to have detailed information at every level of the production process in order to fully understand a product.
CBDfx would not provide us with the details surrounding their source of hemp other than to say that it was grown in Holland and processed using CO2 extraction. Since it’s being shipped to a CGMP and FDA-inspected facility that create their products “to pharmaceutical standards,” we assume all is legal and well.
However, other than the infrequently produced lab results that they offer via their website and through a QR code on their packages, we couldn’t independently verify the quality of their products.
CBDfx does a good job of creating tasty products in a wide range of categories.
For example, their vape pens come in strain-labeled or color-focused varieties.Pricing starts as low as $14.99 and vape pens come in packs that can save consumers up to $30.
Moreover, their edibles come in yummy gummies and tasty sublingual strips. A budget collection of gummies starts at less than $10 and their most expensive edibles go up to $59.99 for 300 mg of CBD.
They even offer a CBD wax that contains 30% CBD oil and 300 mg of pure CBD in a one gram packet for just under $50.
For people that want CBD for their pets, CBDfx has a line dedicated to them. They’re sold in small, medium, and large breed bottles that are priced at $39.99, $59.99, and $89.99, respectively.
CBDfx’s bundles are likely the best options for consumers, as they provide great value for the dollar.
Their best deal is likely to be the bundle that contains three bottles of their CBD tincture oil for just $174.99. That’s like getting one bottle at 50% off just for buying in bulk.
This product would be ideal for a first time consumer if they know they want to try a few different flavors before settling on a favorite product.
CBDFx CBD oil tinctures range from $74.99-$174.99. This price range sets them in the average to high range for this type of product.
Their lower price range offerings provide consumers with a 500mg portion of CBD in a 30 mL bottle. The highest range collection provides consumers with a bundle of three of 500mg bottles. Their 1,000mg and 1,500mg tincture oils are priced in the mid-range at $124.99 and $159.99, respectively.
So, their oils are sold at a relatively average market price of:
Most of their web content is quite clear concerning product pricing. Shipping charges can be easily found during the checkout process. CBDfx provides the consumer with shipping choices including relatively inexpensive methods as well as more costly high speed options.
The user-interface worked smoothly throughout the transaction process. That’s because they have a relatively clean website that is easy to navigate.
An added bonus was the addition of a free sample product to our checkout cart as we were selecting our shipping option. While they don’t offer overnight shipping as an option, we selected their fastest method and received our package in three business days
Pricing for the shipping options offered is shown below:
It should be noted that you are not likely to receive your package in less than three days. While the high speed shipping option specified a delivery time of 1 to 3 days, the package which is mailed states that the three-day shipping option was chosen.
We purchased the bundle of products together because it delivered great value for its price. In this article, we will be looking primarily at one of the CBDfx oils as a representative example of the tincture line. We will next quickly discuss the other products in the bundle.
First, our package included a Blue Raspberry vape pen that delivers a plume of CBD vapor with the taste of blue snow cones.
A light-up tip lets you know that the vape pen is working, as if the burst of flavor wasn’t a sufficient indicator as soon as you start drawing.
Next, their Chill Shot Lemonade product provides a powerful dose of CBD with the flavor of your favorite lemon sports drink. It’s refreshing, sweet, and provides doses of 20 mg of CBD per bottle.
Next, we opened the two pouches in our bundle. One contained gummies with 5 mg of CBD each. They tasted a bit like tapioca but the label indicated that they were made primarily with spirulina and turmeric.
The other packet had a handful of gel capsules. Small, squishy, tasteless, and loaded with CBD, they deliver a rapid dose of 25 mg of CBD.
Within their array of oils, CBDfx has varied their approach to naming their products. One line is plainly labeled as a combination of MCT oil and CBD oil, nothing more. Others have a trifecta of flavors blended together to make the extracted cannabinoids more tolerable on the palette.
The unit itself comes out of the box looking quite clean. To the touch, it feels substantial, the glass is sturdy and the lid seems professionally manufactured.
According to the label on the box of the 500 mg CBD tincture oil, it consists of a proprietary blend of full-spectrum hemp CBD and MCT oil derived from coconuts
While not indicated on the box, customer service informed us that all their products are extracted with CO2.
The packaging was clean and embellished with enticing branding. The product stood out beautifully in it’s clean glass bottle.
The directions indicate that consumers should take one mL of product, place it under the tongue, and let it sit for one minute as it dissolves into your system. Finally, swallowing the remainder will send CBD directly to the stomach.
The oil is semi-viscous, clear, and displays a slight yellow hue.
Just in case it gets into the wrong hands, the lid is equipped with a childproof system. Moreover, the dropper it’s attached to is labeled with an easy-to-see indicator that lets the consumer know how much oil they have dosed.
This unflavored version may be difficult for some consumers to handle. It’s incredibly earthy and might overwhelm first time CBD consumers. Thankfully, its flavored counterparts are available on the CBDfx website for the same price.
If you’re shopping the MCT oil line of CBDfx’s tinctures, you’ll find an assortment of sizes and packages to choose from. For example, you can start with a bottle as small as 500 mg and work your way up to 1,500 mg in a single bottle.
While you’re welcome to purchase just one type of oil, as we did, CBDfx offers generous discounts for purchases of bundles of CBD oil tinctures.
